Dr Isobel Robb
Chartered Clinical Psychologist & Director of Robb Psychology
Dr Isobel Robb is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and completed her training at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her experience spans 22 years across a wide range of clinical settings. She worked in the NHS for many years and is the director of Robb Psychology Kent, which she has gradually built up since 2006. Isobel's expertise means that she has the knowledge and skills to identify, assess and treat a wide range of psychological needs. Isobel splits her time between providing 1-1 psychological therapy and offering autism assessments. She has a specialist interest in autism in adults and older teens, and provides autism diagnosis assessments using assessment tools that are regarded as "gold standard". She previously worked at the Behavioural Genetics Clinic, Institute of Psychiatry / South London & Maudsley NHS Trust, where she was responsible for carrying out in-depth neuropsychological assessment/reporting on adult patients diagnosed with Autism. Isobel has also worked as a Senior Psychologist in Community Mental Health Services in Kent.
Dr Robb provides therapy for people experiencing anxiety (such as social anxieties, generalised anxiety), low mood, relationship difficulties, trauma, post-natal depression/anxiety and phobias. She always strives to provide a safe, sensitive and containing space for people to explore their distress, and identify ways of alleviating difficult thoughts and feelings. She is trained in Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, CBT and mindfulness.
Dr Robb gained her doctorate from University of London in 2005, where she completed her thesis looking at factors that influence suitability for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Asperger's Syndrome.

Central to Dr Robb's work is her compassionate, collaborative and problem solving approach with every client. She aims to help the person fully understand and manage their distress/emotional difficulties, so that they can begin to take the steps needed towards living a life that is in line with their values and goals.
