Clinical Psychologist
Dr April Ward is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC) with 11+ years of clinical experience in both NHS and third sector organisations. Her area of specialist interest is working with individuals, couples and families during pregnancy and early parenthood. She is also interested in the impact of social media use on psychological wellbeing, particularly in adolescence after carrying out her doctoral research in this area.
April offers support to individuals aged 12+ years old and uses a range of evidence based and person-centred psychological interventions. She offers both third-wave CBT approaches (such as CFT and ACT) and psychodynamic approaches, which aims to explore how past experiences may be impacting on current wellbeing in order to develop greater self-awareness and skills to manage overwhelming feelings and emotions in everyday life. April aims to work in a warm and collaborative way that supports individuals to improve their quality of life, whilst acknowledging and drawing on existing strengths and skills.
